How do I care for my printed garments?
Care & Washing Guidelines for Decorated Garments
Proper care is essential to ensure your custom-printed garment stays looking fresh and lasts foryears. Here are some simple tips to keep in mind:
Allow your garment to rest for at least 24 hours after printing. This curing time helps the adhesive set properly. Wearing or washing too soon—especially if you sweat—can weaken the bond before it's fully cured.
Never dry clean printed garments. The chemicals and high heat used in the dry-cleaning process can
damage the design and reduce its lifespan.
Turn garments inside out before washing and drying—every time. This protects the print from
friction, which can cause fading or peeling over time.
Always wash in cold or warm water—not hot. Water temperatures above 178°F (81°C) can weaken
the print's adhesive, leading to cracking or peeling. Stick to gentle cycles with moderate
temperatures.
Avoid detergents with additives like whiteners, brighteners, or heavy stain removers. These can be
too harsh on the print. “Eco-friendly” or “green” detergents may also be too abrasive for decorated
garments.
Ironing directly on the design can melt or burn it. If you need to iron the garment, use a low heat
setting and place a cloth or towel between the iron and the printed area.
These products can break down the ink and adhesive used in garment decoration. To preserve the
look and feel of your print, avoid both completely.
